Lean & Six Sigma World Organization Structure

LSS World: Globalizing Lean & Six Sigma Knowledge

I)  Governing Body: LEAN & SIX SIGMA WORLD ORGANIZATIONSM will be governed by an Executive Board, Advisory Board, and a Technical Committee.

1. Executive Board: The Executive Board will consist of a Chairperson, a Vice-Chair, a Secretary and other members. The term for the Executive Board Members will be for one-year with the exception of the Founding Members, starting from April 1 to March 31.

2. Advisory Board: The Advisory Board will be appointed by the Executive Board and shall consist of top, internationally recognized, Lean Six Sigma experts, as determined by the Executive Board. The role of the Advisory Board will be to decide upon and prioritize the issues that are of importance to Lean & Six Sigma Professionals and for the body of knowledge on Lean & Six Sigma. The term for Advisory Board shall be for one-year, starting from April 1 to March 31st. Fifteen of the twenty Advisory Board Members are to be renewed each year for an additional year(s) based on their contribution, and five member positions are to be replaced each year.

3. Technical Committee: The Technical Committee shall consist of Lean & Six Sigma Professionals with voting privileges. The role of the Technical Committee will be to debate and vote on issues that are of importance for the Lean & Six Sigma Professionals, and for the body of knowledge on Lean & Six Sigma. In making decisions, consideration shall be given to survey results and/or voting from Technical Committee Members where solicited and as appropriate. Such decisions are subject to approval by the Executive Board and AQI.

4. Annual Meetings: The governing Body shall meet annually in conjunction with the Lean and Six Sigma World ConferenceSM.

5. LSS Professional Membership: Through an online membership program, membership will be offered to LSS professionals. The purpose is to create a Lean & Six Sigma specific community for LSS professionals.

 6. Requirements to Serve on the Advisory Board: Prospective new members of the Executive Board must meet the following criteria to be considered for membership:

          • Not to be on the Executive Board, Organizing Committee, or contractually involved in an organization that is a direct competitor with the LEAN & SIX SIGMA WORLD ORGANIZATIONSM and/or the Lean & Six Sigma World ConferenceSM.
          • Must have professional interest in the advancement of the body of knowledge on Lean & Six Sigma.

II)  Participation: Executive Board members must participate in at least 50% of activities/meeting and not miss three meetings in a row. Advisory Board members should participate in at least 50% of electronic surveys/voting to stay in “active” status.

III)  Meetings and Events

Governing Body will meet at least once a year in conjunction with the Lean & Six Sigma World ConferenceSM and via teleconference at least quarterly.


IV)  Language

English will be used as the common international language and communication for this organization. To the extent any translated versions of these bylaws and other communication conflicts with the English version, the English version controls. 


V)  Non-Discrimination and Ethics

LEAN & SIX SIGMA WORLD ORGANIZATIONSM does not discriminate on the basis of race/ethnicity, color, national origin, sex, disability, veteran status, political beliefs, religion, sexual orientation, or age in the administration of any of its Staff, Executives, Volunteers, and Members.

 

VI)  Liability

Governing Body, with the exception of the American Quality Institute Representative(s), is not liable for financial decisions. Likewise, American Quality Institute and/or the Governing Body are not liable for decisions, actions, and words of its members, Advisory Board, or Committees. Although we provide Bylaws and rules for user conduct, American Quality Institute and Lean Six Sigma World Organization do not control or direct users’, committee’s, board, members, or user actions and are not responsible for the content or information transmitted or communicated; nor responsible for any offensive, inappropriate, obscene, unlawful or otherwise objectionable content or information users may encounter in website or other communication vehicles. American Quality Institute is not responsible for the conduct of members, whether online or offline, on any social media sites pertaining to LEAN & SIX SIGMA WORLD ORGANIZATIONSM.
